So, yes, I got the tractor ready. Rather, I finished getting the tractor ready, during the height of the storm this afternoon! LOL

I had to install a new battery in it yesterday, and the way they located it under the instrument panel, I had to take a lot of stuff out to get at it. That ended up taking most of yesterday afternoon. Spent an hour before supper playing with it starting to clear our lane. So far so good!

Fishing gets a lot less satisfying under that magical degree point called freezing. I've done lots of it, and cleaning your rod guides gets so annoying.

Iced up guides cant be good for the line either
When that starts happening, I quit
My fingers are probably too numb to tie a knot by then anyway

I know what you mean about numb fingers in the cold. Raynauds wouldn't allow me to tie on a fly if I wanted to.

Our season out here never really closes, hence the neighbors from Minnesota and Wisconsin showing up en masse after their seasons close in the fall. Most of the driftless spring creeks will have stretches of open water, but I agree, iced up guides is no bueno. Call me a wuss, but I need it > 40° F to fly fish for trout.

At this point, I'm checked out unless we get some stretches of warm weather. Abrupt change, but it was a good ride while it lasted. Time to turn my attention to hunting, rod building/restoration, fly tying.
