Started at the Tobyhanna DHAL section from 12-2. Water temp 38, air temp 67. About 30 percent ice covered but will probably be gone in a week or so. Little black stone flies around but didn't see or catch anything. First time there - beautiful. Saw my first mink in PA swim ten yards down stream from me along with a lot of turkeys.

Checked out Hickory Run. Been about ten years, and just as I remembered, not in my league. One guy coming off the water said he landed a 14" near where it goes into the Lehigh. Didn't really even wet my line.

Arrived at the Little Lehigh about 4:30. Water temp 52, air temp 68. My buddy landed 2 14" brownies on #18PT. First trout on a fly rod for him. Saw a few rises but no other fish landed by others where I was at, in front of the hatchery. Water was a bit cloudy but water level normal.

Personally not a good day, but to have my friend land his first two at the LL was definitely worth it. Not to mention it had been a while since I was on a stream, the Tobyhanna, that either didn't have the sound of traffic in the background or wall to wall people.
