I know there are "certain" guys who despise these "hero" posts but quite frankly I've grown tired of their views so here goes.
I arrived at the creek about 2:30 PM and fished until around 5. Weather was partly cloudy with air temps in the low 50's. Water was clear and low (I guess) with a temp of 56 degrees. Fish were rising when I got there. Splashy and sipper rise forms. I saw a fish take a dancing caddis so I put on a caddis dry with a zebra dropper. On my second cast (while on a business conference call, I might add, gotta luv bluetooth) I hooked one on the dropper. No joy however. I few tugs and he spit it. To be expected with barbless hooks. Well 3 casts later started the fun. I went on the hook between 12 and 15 and brought 8 or 9 to hand.
I had the place to myself and may go back this weekend since it is DH and will probably be empty.
I've attached some pictures of my first 4 to hand. A fun day to be sure. After fishing West I went over to Valley for an hour before our VFTU Annual Trout Show. It was awesome by the way, a TON of great raffle prizes. I spent a bunch and walked out empty handed. Oh well, all for a great cause. BTW, our chapter president gave an update on the Valley sewage leak. Area should be closed for another week or two.
