Got half day unexpectedly today and decided to take advantage of it. Went for native California Rainbows today. As I think I may have told you last year on my first trip fishing SoCal streams, most of these rivers/creeks are also the parks and weekend spots for quite a few city folk. So you generally have to walk about a mile or so upstream to get away from the swimmers and picnics. No surprise yesterday but it wasn’t as crowded as June so maybe only a 1/3 mile before I started fishing. Fished only on top and the water was again in the 50’s. Got action in the first spot I fished but then the action was very spotty the rest of the day. Fished up through what I believe is CA’s version of C&R water. Had a pair of ducks that I could not shake and as I moved up stream they simply flew to and landed splashy in the next pool. Ugggggggg!
Still a very good day. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
