OK. From what I'm reading, it's between 11/1 and 5/1 which means it's not a required thing while we're there in September. Also, it states "when such vessel is underway". Anchor up and there's the loop hole in that law.

Ryan / GOD,

You wrote: "WTF do I care if other people choose to make a decision not wear one and then drown. A few less tools on the water sounds good to me". It's not your decision. If said "tool" doesn't want to wear one and doesn't have to by law, his / her choice. I enjoy fishing. If that's how I go, so be it. No skin off your back or anyone else’s. I'm divorced with 0 kids and an employer I hate. If I could only be lucky enough to fall over and hit my head. I have my own boat with its own rules. I think you have every right to say "my boat, my rules" and I applaud you sticking to your guns. See you up there next month.

I also believe that jdaddy is correct on the chumming rule.

OK Sight, first I gotta say I enjoyed your reply. The Ryan/GOD & the diverced with 0 kids and an employer I hate lines really had me LMAO.

Clearly it's not my decision, it's now a law. While I generally support people's rights to make their own good or bad decisions I don't see how anyone can call this regulation dumb or say they don't know why it was made in the first place. I guess that was my beef, its not rocket science to figure out it was enacted to try to prevent unnecessary drowning deaths during the colder months when a person's strength & ability to swim can get sapped pretty quickly. Each year, up and down the Delaware River, a lot of money and manhours from S&R teams and local Fire Departments get wasted searching for drowning victims. It at least helps save money (possibly for taxpayers) on search and recovery efforts of said "tool's" corpse if it's at least floating! Call 'em an infringement on your rights, just don't call 'em dumb.

Also, wouldn't it only be chumming if I chopped them up first instead of just letting th whole body float down?

Thanks too, you just might see me up there next month. And should you fall out of your boat sans life jacket I will indeed resepct your wishes and just keep back and watch if you begin struggling to keep your head above water.

If I fall out, you won't see me struggling..... just a middle finger in the air that slowly slips into the water.

I'll be sure to take a pic for posterity. We'll make it your last avatar!
