West Branch Delaware River, Delaware County 07/22/10

Fished The W.B. Delaware from 07/22/10 thru 07/25/10. The flow was good at around 500-600 CFS. The weather was good, overcast some showers during the morings and at night. The fog wrecked the evening hatches but the afternoon sulphur hatch was very good. Some small olives mixed in here and there.

I attached a few pics of some of the nicer browns caught in Stilesville. A friend and I landed around 30 fish with 3 in the 20" range, 3 or 4 in the 18" range, several in the 15-16'' range and many 12'' or smaller. Sulphurs (18/20), olives 18 down to 26 and tan and brown caddis 14/16. Midges nymphing and on top were effective.

You also gotta love fishing in 90 degree heat, bright sun and watching big wild browns slurp sulphurs off the top at 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon....all while wading in < 50 deg. water.

Ya, definitely don't mind wading deep when it's 90 and that tailwater is less than 50!

It didnt work out for me in the spring. If I can ever get the money together, I can get a brand new Fishcat 9 for around $130.00.
Those browns are beautiful on top of being large.

$130 for a fishcat 9'? Find a way to make that happen. They retail for $699!! You could buy a couple and flip them for a profit!

My options are buy it for myself, buy it jointly if I know I'll be using it, or buy it as a gift for someone else.
