That crowded huh? When I arrived at the JP there were two spin guys at the ramp, 2 guys down in the riffles ,and two guys on the PA side up towards the point. Buddy and I walked up the NY side and started fishing for risers in the scum line. The one guy that was 50 yards above me on the PA side started working down. He then began screaming at me about wanting solitude and fish for rising fish and he could not do that since I was across river from him. Guess the two hundred yards above us that they previously were fishing was not enough room. I just laughed and kept thinking about some of the other spots and how crowded they usually are. I kept fishing.

When it is really crowded I figure maximum casting distance plus maybe 50% more. Best I can do when it is that crowded and better than I get from a lot of other folks.

When I have to move I try to haul out of the river or pass as close too and as quietly as possible a long the shore line.

Even then many times you either have to wait to fish a spot or move again.

When you are on the other side of the river it gets to be a little more of a judgment call but I think the 150% rule is a good one because some folks can cast further than I can. I try not to fish the same fish that someone else is targeting or may target in their casting area.

Most of the boats are good and try to stay at you back if possible, but I have had some that will blow by right in front of me when they could have easily gone behind. If you are fishing near a boat ramp then the boat courtesy rule does not apply.
