Slipped out for a couple hours while waiting for some primer to dry. (Partially true, at least) A couple fish rising sporadically though the bug life was less than usual. Crane flies, midges, and some (not many) substantial Sulpher duns were noted. Weather was overcast, water was a little cloudy and slightly over median flow, 58 degrees. I caught some fishing where I saw rises and some just drifting the lanes. Fished around five to 6:30. Rose eight or so and hooked all but one; landed most. Despite some of the rise forms being subtle, the takes were not. All browns of medium size and every hit was on some kind of cdc pattern; 14-16 and mostly caddis. Also took two fishing down with a caddis pupa. As the light went down the fish got a lot more picky and much as I like solving the puzzle, I went back to my place and cut in and rolled the wall I had prepped earlier. Nice little respite though and good practice, because every hit was on a really good drift. No skittering, skating, or any of that stuff.

Returned to the scene of the crime for a quick break from house moving and painting tedium. Not much bug life; mostly midges and a couple Sulphers. Water 60 with a little tinge. No other anglers out. It was overcast and had just rained lightly. Sporadic risers and I managed to raise five in a a little over an hour; starting at five pm. Hooked and handled four; all browns from 10-12" enough to put a nice bend in my 3 wt. Best fly was a sz. 14 Sulpher comparadun. They seemed to want a low rider as the other two took a parachute.
