Fish were rising when I got to the river at 9:00 a.m. #18 Baetis, tan caddis until around 1:00. I took a break until 4:00 and when I came back there was a good March Brown emergence with lots of bugs on the water and a good dorothea emergence. Lots of targets and no small fish. The smallest fish I landed out of a dozen was 16". I rose sixteen fish. Broke one off on the set and another swam under a rock and broke the 5X. A couple were LDR's.
I fished pretty much all day on Tuesday and from 8:30 - 2:00 on Wednesday. I started to feel like crap and wound up getting a cold. I had the chills, sneezing, the whole gamut of symptoms of a cold. I didn't fish anymore on Wednesday and I stayed in bed on Thursday thinking I might get well enough to fish. That didn't happen and I left for home yesterday at 3:00 p.m.
