Fished the this stream for the first time this season. Closest to me but it has been pounded due to so many people being out of work. Also being extremely small not the best place for social distancing.
Started fishing a little after 5pm, sunny but turned cloudy Water was slightly above median flow and just tinged a bit. Lrttle bug activity though I saw some Black Caddis and midges. Tight lining with my 10' cheapo euro rod and a sighter. Best fly (by far) was a Tungsten BH caddis pupa though it fished a little too heavy for some of the shallower riffles.
Caught fish pretty easily despite working some obvious location. The best bring less than 50 yards from my truck. Landed several and most were browns on the smallish side though one might have hit 13". The first run produced 5 before moving upstream. The action slowed and I knew I was fishing a little heavy so rather than retie I worked back downstream.
Two more from the first spot and then it got very dark. A light rain started but the temp dropped like a stone and I beat feet and barely got back to my truck before all hell broke loose; branches down, power outages etc. By 7, I was heading home for supper, happy there were still trout that survived the hordes. Also thankful we have power since the other side of our street does not.
