Hit my now "home" stream a little after noon. Mostly sunny with a gusty wind at times; stream was dead clear and below median flow. Some tan caddis and grey stones in the air but no risers. Had just been stocked so it was getting hammered; a surprising no. of fly fisherman as well.
First fast run produced nothing which was a shock since it is almost always good for some fish. Skipped around four fly guys and nailed four trout in short order at the next spot. Every fish I caught came from a fast run or riffle, and I educated a goodly no.
Most of the guys out were respectful and when I met ones with no clue I just moved on without comment. I caught trout in most likely looking areas and they were spread out pretty well.
Even though the pressure was pretty considerable, more guys were releasing than keeping including the spin fishermen which was encouraging. Stopped a little after five; I had just caught three in about five min. and decided it wasn't going to get any better. Nice to get out ,and even had spousal clearance!
