There are 35 small metal spools and 2 small bobbins here that I’ll sell for $30.00. Some of the spools contain Monobond, which is a strong thin thread (perhaps 6/0 or even 8/0 equivalent) and other spools contain floss, or other brands of replacement threads. For size comparison, each plastic box is about 3”x 2”, and the bobbins are 3” long.

You can fill these spools with thread or floss of your own choosing if you wish and use them to tie flies at home, or they would be excellent to take with you as part of a travel fly tying kit.

You can pick them up in New Holland, PA, or I’ll ship them to you in the US for $10.00 shipping, paid by PayPal.

Send me a private message here to arrange purchase, or with any questions you have

Thank you, John

Soft hackle/spider fans, those bobbins appear to be the same size as the coveted Matarelli Midge Bobbin that in addition to those metal spools, holds a spool of Pearsall Gossamer Silk thread perfectly.

FWIW - A real deal Matarelli Midge Bobbin can set you back $100...

Thanks. I hadn’t thought of that. I just looked at a spool of Pearsall’s and found it is just slightly larger in circumference and diameter than these metal spools, but still fits very nicely into these bobbins. These bobbins with the Pearsall’s spool provide just the right amount of tension, and would do very well in wrapping a wet fly body.
