That sage 504 (im guessing that's the size) is a baddest reel! Hopefully you still use it.

Here's one from 8 or 9 years ago when I used to catch fish. I think the reel used was a sage 505 (either that or a cfo iv) definitely nothing with a disc drag.

I have another suggestion, how about "Fish MAD Magazine..."

It would be filled with parodies of fly fishing videos, magazines, celebrities and would feature cartoons like "Lie vs Lie" about two guys who try and outdo each other with stories about the fish they catch and Don Martin-like spoofs of all things fishing.

Also included is a monthly "The Lighter Side" cartoon about subjects such as Tight-line Nymphing, Choosing the Correct Reel, Line, Leader, Hat, Vest, Pack, Thermometer, Magnifier, Sling Pack, Wading Jacket, Waders, Wading Shoes, Hot Dog or Cheese." And in the back of each issue...

A "Fold-In" rear cover with an enhanced hero shot photo of some flat-brimmer holding a fish they caught....

When you fold it IN, you can see the ACTUAL size of the fish they caught... 😉

It's sad to hear that. It must have been a special experience catching natives on your own property. At least you have those fond memories. Ahh, the good ole days.

The stream lost its Brookies in the late 70's. Water levels dropped, A new population of folks moved into the area and were so hard on them they basically wiped them out.
There is now a Brown trout presence and they are spawning...They migrated up from Oil Creek and have established a breeding population...Some real bruisers in there for the size of the stream.

There is now a Brown trout presence and they are spawning...They migrated up from Oil Creek and have established a breeding population...Some real bruisers in there for the size of the stream.

Is Dusty Rhodes fishing the stream you reference in that video?

We also called them snappers or slammers back in the 70's. That's when we would catch slammers all day, every day, through the entire summer off Brielle, NJ. Those days are gone.
