I have to get some fishing in before my wife has the baby. LOL! Never fished in Blair County before and wanted to do a stream sampler.Spectorfly and I fished 5 streams. Some streams i wont mention because they are unstocked. But some are stocked and wild trout streams. So they are safe to mention.
This little guy was an interesting stream. Its small maybe 5-10 foot across and flows fairly deep for its small size. At least at this time of year. We arrived about lunch time or so. Hard to tell we fished Sunday from 8:30-8:30 didnt focus on time so much.
The fish seemed to like to hide in nooks and crannies. They would be in pockets and currents that were very small windows to take a fish. With the flow, small pockets and cover it was hard fishing. Lots of hatches. Some small brown mayfly spinners, caddis and more caddis, and even more gnats! I saw a few BWO's also.
The stream flowed through some really bad over hanging brush. We started at the top of the stocked section and fished down a great distance. We had to avoid the first 100 yards or more of stream because of the brush. The rhododendron was so thick forget catching them in that tunnel. But where it was scattered you would take a fish from under it. More over dont forget if you go to try Camp Anderson Pond. They stock it and its right beside Vanscoyoc Run. Its open to the public and might be worth a cast. I missed one on top and had a few nice fish follow a bugger. Spectorfly almost caught his 2nd palomino trout lol.
Over all the stream is difficult to fish but the pocket fishing is very cool. i give it a B. Not a bad stream at all.Took fish on buggers and i missed a few on a BWO.
This was stop number 3 out of 5.

I didnt take many pics of fish but we caught a mix of stocked and wild. Spectorfly might have a few;-)
I did however take a lot of pics of all the streams we fished and have updated my new pics page.More photos uploading but i have some there now. No slide show yet but enjoy!
