Hey guys,
I managed the get out twice this weekend in the afternoon for a bit.
2/17/18: 12pm-4pm
Water: clear, 40s
Weather: sunny then to cloudy/snow by 430pm
Not much activity upstream of the turnpike bridge, a couple hits but nothing landed. My friend and I decided to try below the covered bridge in attempt to not be skunked for the day. At 405pm I landed a nice 8-10” on a #18 black zebra midge.
2/18/18: 230pm-530pm
Water: a little bit stained compared to yesterday, 40s
Weather: sunny
Managed to get out for about 3 hours. I worked down from the covered bridge. Landed my personal best for Valley, it was 12”+ on a #18 black zebra midge.
I typically never fish below the covered bridge, I like the upstream sections better, but the lower section has caught my interest. The dam which is reletively close to SR23 and the Schuylkill, there isn’t anyway for fish to traverse that area, but has anyone had luck below the dam? I’ve never fished it aside from today, but I wasn’t sure if I was wasting my time trying to catch brown trout down that way.
