Valley Creek, Chester County 4/23/2015

Hit the creek over in the Malvern area yesterday for a little bit after work, 5:30-7:30. Didn't have a thermometer but water temp was cold, but the fish were active. Was using a elk hair dry and a zebra midge dropper. Had two hits and caught one tiny wild brown. Good day minus the wind picking up and catching a few trees.
As i was walking out i did see a few fish rishing to something on the surface but i am still too new to know what i was looking at bug wise.

Most likely BWO's or midges.

Pcray is correct:I was there for about 45 minutes (not fishing) around 7PM and I definitely did see some BWO's coming off and a few rises to them

Fished from 4 to 7 last night from the covered bridge to the turnpike. Water was low and clear. Caught 4 small browns on a size 18 elk hair caddis and lost 2 more sizeable fish on the caddis as well. Saw a few guys tearing through the creek with spinning rods which kind of pissed me off but other than that a good day.

I fish a little above you yesterday at the same time and had the same results on #18 tan caddis. I also saw a guy with his son using spinning rods and bait.

Yea I saw two other guys fishing bait which I'm pretty sure that it is illegal to fish bait at valley

Valley is all tackle, c&r. The Nat'l Park Svc prohibits live bait in Valley w/in the park.

The majority of the stream is not in the national park.

Fished from covered bridge to iron bridge today and caught 4 fish. All over 10 inches, definatley my best day at valley to date. caught all fish on a size 16 al's rat, its safe to say I'm obsessed

Fished an area outside the park on 5-14 and caught a dozen between 2 of us. Big sulphur and caddis hatch from 6pm to dark. Most fish caught on #18 tan caddis in the fast runs.
