Valley Creek, Chester County, 3/1/17

Fished the park from 11 to 2:30. Didnt get a temp. Almost right off the bat midges and olives came off. Some of the olives were big, maybe 16s. It was great watching them take duns, but most were hitting emergers. I used a soft hackle emerger for an hour and a half until the wind put the fish down. Managed another using wets, but things slowed down tremendously after the first batch of risers.

Didnt see anyone else fishing, but I did see a brown snake cross the river.

Nice report. Yesterday seemed like a perfect day for olives! I am glad they are starting to react to them. Seems silly to sip 22 midges all day, when those pretty mayflies duns are dancing all over, but I guess they had it good this winter with the midges.

The park, went upstream from the covered bridge. I figure may as well fish that stretch now before it starts getting crushed.

It will always be crushed since it has stream bred fish in a densely populated area. Also the internet has greatly increased pressure on just about all fishing waters. I gave up reporting on much more than conditions a long time ago, though if someone pms me for help I will try to do so.
