Fished Valley Creek from 9:00AM-3:00PM. Caught two fish on size 20 black zebra midge, with a few more nibbles. Saw some fish rising in the park around 10:00AM to size 22 midges, but couldn't catch any on dry imitations. Fish were found in all their usual hideouts today.

I fished above the park, saw a bunch of rising fish also. Good day fishing except for the 3 dog owners who let their dogs play in the runs I was fishing. landed 5, rolled a bunch more.

Dog owners are my nemeses on that creek! They are tearing up the banks on Little Valley too. It's all mud around their favorite drinking bowl...

I have the same problems with dog owners. I like to tell them that they probably shouldn't let their dogs drink the water because you can't keep the fish due to the carcinogenic in the water. It usually freaks them out. And it's not a lie.

i agree! it makes it challenging for sure and they do rip up the banks. It drives me nuts how many dogs are not on a leash.

The Friends of the Wissahickon tried this campaign. A lot of good information, but I have not seen much of a difference yet. The volunteers are allowed to stop and address an owner with a dog off-lease, but they can't fine or do anything about it, really.

Have you had success with that? It would never happen in Montgomery County where I am, and forget Philly. I have seen popo resting in a parking lot while 4 dogs ran the field...

I never had to call the police . I usually tell the person to manage their dog and they listen . But that area doesn't have a high crime rate and it's a township law and their job is to enforce the law .

Me and a buddy fished Valley, in one section between dog owners and adults that let their kids throw huge rocks in to the stream; we had to ditch on that section.

I had a very good day yesterday on Valley. Lots of fish rising for midges and small olives. I landed 5 and missed 3 times that. All caught on top with a size 20 Griffiths knat. One fish had some really good shoulders on him. Used my bamboo and had a blast.

Great stuff, Longbow. I hope to get out there Sunday. I hope I don't run into any dogs. "Who let the dogs out?"
