Got out yesterday afternoon from about 1:30-4:00 with my wife for some much needed alone time. It was her 2nd trip for trout with a fly rod and only 3rd time overall FFing. As usual she tried to show me up and caught her first trout with a white bead head bugger. We made a move to an area we never fished before and I made a cast under a fallen tree with another white bugger and was rewarded nicely for braving a difficult cast! Saw a fair amount of guys out which meant we where leap frogging around but first fish of the year is in the books for both of us and I think there is another streamer addict the way hers slammed the fly!!! The picture with the net is her fish the other is mine.

Great report. I was tempted to get out on Sunday, but once again could not find the time.

Hi there
Could I bother you guys for some insight? I went out last week looking for some deeper water for some winter fishing and got majorly skunked.

I parked near Mill Road and walked around Little Valley Creek down to the ball park. Also on Valley Creek up to the Apartment buildings.

A PM or suggestion of some good winter holding pools would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Mike

Fish hold throughout the entire stream... it just slows down drastically when water temps drop.

Meet us at the iron bridge at the bottom of Wilson Road in the National Park at 10:00 A.M. We'll try to help.
