Much tougher Monday @ VC than last, which is saying something. Not really keen on this habit that's developing.

Fished 12-4pm.

Did a little screwing around, but after 90 minutes of skunk, I decided to work hard at catching fish. Didn't matter.

Sporadic caddis, but little activity otherwise (except gnat swarms). Very few rises. Saw maybe 6-7 rises all day other than the ones I manufactured. Fish that were induced to rise only rose once, despite repeated courting, and if not hooked on the first take, were lost.

4.5 hours, 2 fish. Emerger and parachute adams.

Sun was out all day, water was extremely clear and as low as I've seen it all year. Lower than normal, as well.

There, I have excuses.

Oh, stream was quiet when I arrived, but when I came back down from Chesterbrook it was completely packed again. Probably 10 guys between the turnpike bridge and the steel bridge. Ridiculous.

I want to see pics of the valley sulphur I believe it to be a urban myth like the Pa mountain lion

I have seen the mystical Valley Sulphur (last year)...no pics though

The complaint was tongue-in-cheek.

Anyway, my last two reports were about how tough my day was. Isn't that supposed to send people to Ridley and French?

Who knows how these people keep finding this mystery stream?

I mean, it's at least 5 miles the nearest major shopping mall.

First Fly Fisherman magazine spot burns Big Spring, now this.

These fish raising the white flag yet? Imagine they are beat into submission. By the way the sulphur hatch is pretty much one day now. Hurricane Floyd killed it off for the most part.

Not yet, but greenlander's still trying to rally the troops. I'm sure we'll get a surrender eventually.

I'd talk about what I saw a group of fly fishermen doing down there the other weekend, but I don't want to steal greenweenie's style. ;-)

Those fish over in Valley are getting pounded man... I hardly fish it at this point because it gets so crowded.

White flag is up. I've done it.

I guess I should've asked everyone there yesterday how they like my stream reports. Quite clearly they've all read them. 🙂

I'm starting a new job in bryn mawr in about a month. It looks like I'll have to get a place to stay down there during the week...I live in Lehigh Valley.
Jeez I was thinking this could be my only weekday option but I don't want to contribute to the over pounding...

I took a walk over there today on my lunch break. Lots of guys out beating the fish into submission. I also saw a first for me over there. Saw one guy with a cooler and a camp stool and two spinning rods in rod holders fishing the slow pools up towards rt. 23. He almost looked like he was surf fishing. Atleast thats what it looked like when I drove by.

I fish the valley down in downingtown not as much fishing pressure but alot harder to fish. As for the pa mountain lion ive seen one down in unionville area/northbrook canoe area. And ive seen them/heard them up in sullivan county.

They need a lot of food to sustain themselves, it must be feeding on the bodies of the paddlers who won't wear their life jackets and then wash up on shore! The canoe company should require all paddlers to have guns :-o
