Valley Creek, Chester Co., 4/26/2014

Fished the Chesterbrook area just upstream from the park. Usually catch risers on BWO or caddis' this time of the year but tried high sticking with a sz 18 frenchie and baron with 1 splitshot.

Caught 2 as the nymph rose at the end of the drift in shallow riffles and a nice 12 inch HARD fighter in a fast deep pool under a log. He actually snagged me up in a bundle of sticks and I ended up landing the fish using the sticks. Ha. Released successfully and healthy.

Caught one more little guy after that...

I thought that area had 6" plus of rain? Are the streams dropping down already?

Check the date he fished. Plus, Valley drops faster than any stream in the area.

You didnt see any caddis or olives coming off?

I usually ride past Valley every day. Englishprof is correct in that Valley does drop very fast compared to other streams. Thursday was very high, Friday, it was looking really good. I would think that it should be really nice today.
