Did my favorite rainy day activity at Valley Creek from 6am -9am today - pound the banks and eddies with a black wooly bugger. It is the best time to catch some larger fish and today was great. Caught 6 browns and lost as many. The best thing, they were all 10" or larger with the biggest pushing 15". I think when the current is running strong due to rain those 6" browns that I catch alot of, can't hang and that leaves only the bigger trout to hit that bugger when it splats down at the bank. A fun morning.
