Fished above iron bridge & turnpike for a few hours yesterday.
Water temp was 38 @ 10:00 and 40 by 1:00. Air temp got to about 50. Missed a couple of solid takes early on {#22 PT} but that was about it. I saw sporadic midge activity. Saw one other guy who indicated he was having about the same luck as me. Packed it in and went home to watch the Eagles tear up the Vikings.
 
I think i have experienced that if there is snow on the ground, or the ground is saoked but frozen, a slight warming trend in the air temps has the effect to drop the stream temp as it melts snow and ice, and introduces more 32 degree flow to the stream. usually fish don't like that sudden drop in temp.

Had about the same experience on Valley Saturday the 20th. I was wondering if Sunday was going to be any different. Low and Clear and the fish were very very spooky.
