Got to the stream around 6am. Fished till 9am. Fished from the white covered bridge up to the turnpike. Water was a little dirty. Tried a two nypmh rig, first time I have done this, and it worked out great, Tied on a #18 bdfbpt, with a #18 tan scud about 12 inches down. I brought about 7 to the net and had a few come off. All were about 6"-8". All trout took the scud, which surprised me cause I usually get them on the pt. Looking back, I wonder how many trout I may have caught if I had been using the scud.
On a side note, I found a fawn stuck in a fence downstream of the turnpike. It had its leg stuck in the plastic fence the parks service has setup as a vegetation/ stream bank protection. Tracked down two girls working for the parks service removing crayfish from the stream and we eventually got the fawn out of the enclosed area, not before my legs got stung by nettles (I was wet wading). Def, an interesting morning down at valley.
