Fished Valley up from the green metal bridge yesterday from 6:30 - dark. Would have been there earlier but forgot my license at home and had to drive 30 minutes each way to get it. Disappointed on the bug activity. Fish were occassionally rising but only to midges. Managed one on a caddis emerger size 16. Thought fishing may get better once sun got off the water and right at dusk the fish got a little more active on the surface but weren't interested in what I had to offer. Was using sulfur emerger and comparaduns 18 and 20 respectively. I saw one guy who said he had been fishing regularly the past couple weeks and has not seen anything he would refer to as a hatch. At dusk there were a few sulfur setting up over the riffles, but literally only a few.

I fish there pretty regularly and the only thing I've seen that I would consider a hatch is black caddis. I was there today and got one on a black caddis emerger #18 and another on white midge #22.

I'm gonna tie up a bunch of ants and beetles for the next time I go there, I hear terrestrials start getting good in June at the Valley.
