I don't often post reports, but this one was kinda neat and I have pics.

I took the lady friend out on her birthday for a few hours. She wanted to learn to fish, and I wasn't about to tell her no.

We got to the stream pretty late, approx 7:30. Spotted three fish at the bridge, including the one that chestercnty mentions. They were rising to midges, but I didn't have my small stuff box.

Tried an ant, a hopper, and a deer hair beetle before finally bringing one up.

Afterward, we headed upstream so I could give a few casting lessons.... I had her casting across the stream within a half hour, but I'm not sure how good of a teacher I am. Anyone have any info on the sporting gentleman's casting lessons?

She likes to take pictures, so here are a few:

That guy took a beetle. Pretty fish.

And I thought this one was kinda cool.

Nice pics, Jay.

I don't know from experience but have read and been told that casting on a ball field without the destraction of trying to catch fish can be really productive especially with correcting problems.

Just knew you were one of the good guys.
I get up at 3am three times a week so I can go smoke my 4 cigarettes and Phillies blunt,I meant go fishing.lol

Chester,

I didn't catch the bigger one, but the fish pictured was caught in the same run.

JustFish,

Good call. I wanted to be on the stream incase mending or roll casting came up, but that was wayyyyy too optimistic for a first lesson. Oh well, she wanted to see a fish. At least we got that.

Pete,

:-D
