I took jfetkin to the private section of the Upper Tully I fish and we had a very good day. Swinging scuds and nymphs it didnt take long before we already landed 8 fish.

Jay asked me if i was sure there were scuds in the water so i pulled up a clump of weeds. It was crawling with scuds and cress bugs. Lots of them. The scuds looked to be about a size 18 and olive/gray in color. The cress bugs where small to enormous.

We fished about 3/4 the section and had around 20+ fish when AmishOutlaw joined us. It didnt take him long to land a bunch of fish either.

Some fish were rising but not many. This was kind of unusual but the water is still a bit high but flowing just slightly off color.

Flies of the day where copper johns and scuds. Good day on the water. And it was wonderful to fish with you 2. We gotta do it again sometime. :-D

Nice. I figured they were in the upper, and that's a pretty impressive sample.

Anyone know about the lower (tailwater) stretch? I know trace populations are everywhere, but I was curious about that.

A good day it was. And Sal out fished the Outlaw by at least 3:1, which is what I expected. But it was fun fishing with you two. And I learned a lot talking with these guys and watching them fish. Now I will have to try and tie some copper johns like Jfetkin.
