Upper Pine Bottom Run - Lycoming County

Some questions for the group. The family will be staying at a cabin near Waterville for a few days - instead of our regular station at Cammal. We're more familiar with fishing Little Pine above the lake and Big Pine closer to Slate Run. Is Upper Pine Bottom Run worth a try? Is it too crowded for a group of three? Is access best at the state park near Fin-Fur-Feather?
Since we'll only be there for a few days and will also be doing non-fishing activities, we won't have a lot of time to recon the situation ourselves.

It’s meh. I doubt it will have much pressure this time of year, but, it’s right along 44 going up the mountain. The similar Pine tribs nearby that don’t have paved roads along them are generally better.

Thank you, Swattie. I figured as much since my father-in-law never recommended it in the 30+ years I've been going to the canyon.. The Arcis(?) map called it a Class A trout stream with a natural repro tributary, but it looks like a small ditch in the photos of the park.

Its definitely not a ditch, but it is a small stream with wild trout right along a main rd with easy access. There are many other pine creek tribs nearby with forest roads in close proximity that are worth checking out if you enjoy small streams.

Lots of good spots on big pine between waterville and slate run. Do some exploring!

Not sure when you are going but with warm weather and limited rain in forecast temps are going to go up pretty rapidly in the next week or so.

We'll be there this weekend, thinking that the rain from a couple weeks ago and the rain in the forecast will keep water temps around 65. The farthest I ever fished downstream on Pine was Callahan Run and that was many years ago (before the train tracks were removed). We'll likely try some small water if the other is too muddied up.
