Upper Delaware River, Wayne County, Pennsylvania, 4/29/2017

In spite of my negative report, good times were had and fish were caught.

Will fish take #16 Paraleps in muddy water with less than a foot a visibility? Yeah, they do. Most important thing I took away from the trip is 2 degrees water temp makes all the difference in the world and let conditions determine where you fish

 
I was at the capra as well from mon thru fri. I had the old beat up clacka.

You had the tan / green boat? You guys were pretty serious and launched EARLY. I think we passed a time or two on river. We'll be back up 18-20!! Lol

Rooms are brighter, TV is bigger with a lot of channels and new beds / pillows are pretty damn comfy. New owner is engaged in the business / always asking for ways to make the place better. He's building us a cookout area for grilling (near RR tracks). Also, looks like the Circle E is for sale which could be devastating.

Great video, thanks for sharing. There is one picture of a guy with a goatee and a very silvery brown - looks to be about 20". Great heavy fish.
 
I had the old off white/blue/red boat. I launched pretty early most days. I was the one with the grey jeep with the boat hooked up parked next to the movie theatre most nights. Our results were reel similar to yours. We probably got 1/3 streamers only a couple on nymphs and the majority on dries. Monday 5/1 we floated from shehawken to buckingham from 7am until 8pm. Consistent risers, that was our best day. I also did very well Friday 4/28 floating the upper east. Tuesday after the blowout we floated from stilesville to barking dog I got the only fish, weds sucked but we got a couple, thurs was good but the rain scared us away for Friday and we went home. With the flows so high and we did multiple long floats each day (except Tuesday).
 
Kray, Nice work with the video and keeping us on the water despite the taxing conditions. Always enjoy the time on the water with you.

I can happily state I got all but one fish on dry flies. And a few were pretty damn nice.
Can't wait to do it again.

That would be DaveS. He has a knack for catching fish like that. 🙂
 
Important question DaveS ? Did you wear the hat again from the last time I was up ?
 
Norm, negative on the "baron von richthofen" head gear. Should have worn it though, as I froze my a$$ off a few days.
 
I forgot to mention one freakish thing we did see. If you know where the huge Eagle nest is in the Mud Flats, look close next time through. We did with binoculars and didn't believe what we saw.

The nest has a squatter. We saw the bird in the nest but something didn't look right. Binoculars showed a Canadian Goose on a nest. The Eagle came back a a few times but the pair of geese ran it off. I'm thinking she's already on her eggs. I'm not sure how many of her goslings will survive the 50' drop from the nest.

Anyone else see her up there ??

Now that's strange!

I'd imagine with all the interest there is in eagles nests these days, that such an occurance could get a lot of media attention.
