Upper Delaware, Delaware County NY, 9/13-9/14/14

Report is right here. The weekend was okay without a boat this time. Saturday lead me to start up in Bard Parker. Saw fishibg rising in the lower main poil right in front. This was about 7 am. Got a nice 16ish bow on a 20 rusty spinner. Then the clouds wore off and i was off to stockport to try some nymphing. By this time the sun was high and it was about 80 degrees so fishing was slow. Only turned one fish on nymphs down by the weir. Walked all the way down to cemetary and saw one big brown rising, the 2 guys on toons before me threw an olive at him and he wouldnt eat it. Walked back to the car got lunch and hit up bard parker again around 430-5 as soon as the sun dropped behind the mtn. Saw a good number of fish rising down in the lower end so i took my pack off and waded basically up to my chest. Ended up catching 4 on dries that night. 20 rusty spinners and took a couple fish on 24 psuedos. Fish really werent keyed in on hebes or cahills. Missed one on a caddis. Lots of caddis hatching at night and a few fish with splashy rises at them.

Next day got in the water a little later. Started around 10 in second heaven riffle to turn nothing on nymphs. Took the hike since i knew fishing wouldnt really turn on until later all the way down to the braids. With all the caddis in the water i threw a 16 caddis sparkle pupae and an 18 pt along with it. Got 2 fish on the pupae and a nice 18 inch fat bow on the pt. well worth the walk. The water was stained on sunday but it was fishable. Threw streamers but didnt turn anything. Left bp around 3 to get lunch and came back around the same time as the previous day. Fish didnt really turn on until 6 probably due to the stained water.!ended up catching one brown and that was it. Wasnt a bad trip at all just not sure how this weekend will be with the flows and silty water. Its sucking all the muck off the bottom of cannonsville. The WB up by the gamelands saturday was chocolate milk. Good luck Kray.

If the guys in to pontoons had one red and one blue boat....it was probably mutzinbaugh from the forum. He told me they were fishing little olives. From the sou ds of things, this will suck. I think we are going way down on the main. I know that one morning will be spent streamer fishing the muddy water. That when you get reaction strikes instead of follows w/o strike. Oh well, took the time off so I'll just stare at the water and hope something good happens. We should have cloud cover so that's a plus.

Actually, i talked to two guys on toons that came right up to me on the braids. The guy said they were from central pa....nice guys. I traded flues with him because the fish were onto caddis pupae. Most likely was them and i didnt know it

And actually Rinker said they did well swinging wets on the lower main all the way down by callicoon. If i were you, i would try out one day on the upper main. The fish are definitely there.
