Went down to the stretch below the limestone preserve around... 6:30ish. Took 3 at the bridge on PT nymphs and one down below the rock dam on a bloody butcher wet fly. Saw a kid and his dad worming them out at the rock damn also. All stockie bow's, was good fun though.

Not much hatch activity.. but I met a drunk guy who was telling me about when the preserve floods out all those big trout hold up in and around Womelsdorf. Never fished that section, anybody have any truth to this?

He was correct.

When the preserve used to flood out tons of fish would escape and would be all over that creek. Quite a few years back they well over 10,000 fish, not sure on the exact number, the fishing was amazing for about 3 months after the flood. Since then the limestone preserve has updated their hatchery and they dont lose nearly as many fish.

I took the kids to the Preserve the other day and they loved it.

I would recommend it for younger kids. They can really get into the fishing since they can see the fish up and down the creek, pick their spots, and check out the hatchery if they get bored.

Even my 3 year old was throwing a little spinner and giggling every time she saw one of those big Palomino's chase it to the bank.

Good dinner on the grill too...
