Fished the Palisades from about 5:30 - 7:45. Usual caddis coming off although not as heavy as they are some times. Just an occasional sulfur that generated no interest from the fish. Steady risers in the flat water above the riffles although the lower water has concentrated them somewhat. Got a few in that stretch on #16 tan cdc caddis but didn't want to crowd a guy who was standing in the middle of numerous rising fish. Moved down into the faster water after it was vacated and there were just some occasional risers. Too lazy to go sub surface. Just waited patiently for a fish to show here and there and caught several more with the caddis.
There were a lot of guys fishing some of the other popular spots. Five cars parked under the 222 bridge, several guys at the Paper Mill, etc. The rare nice weather must have brought everyone out.
Water level was a little on the low side.
