Fished the tully 1/5 from 11:30 - 2

Air Temp was 23*-30*
Water Temp was 31* - 32*
Flow was 338 cfs and clear

I managed 2 on a BHPT. The flow made it difficult to get a good drift. I could never find the happy medium between weight and drift. Tried a few streamers but there was no takers. No insect hatch activity.

Browns or Rainbows? It makes a difference in the Tully because only Rainbows are typically stocked in the fall unless there is a shortage of RT in a particular year in the hatchery assigned to the Tully. So, fall caught Browns would typically be the adult Browns that were stocked the previous spring or the occasional wild or larger holdover Brown. The privately stocked Rainbow fingerlings are stocked in the fall and only in the section above Rebers Bridge to Blue Marsh Dam. Adult Rainbows that are stocked in fall are stocked only in the stretch from Rebers Bridge downstream to the covered bridge (and in the special reg area below that...stocked trout water open to year around fishing).

Both were fingerling rainbows. I had a 30 fish day a few weeks ago on the Tully and it was all rainbows that day as well.

Thanks for the info. Given you are catching the fingerlings, I assume that you are fishing someplace upstream from Rebers Bridge OR have the fingerlings moved downstream? I would recommend that you also give the fall stocked stretch a try in either the DH or "bait area" below since the fall RT were stocked over three months ago. They probably grew up to an inch since then and are probably fairly heavy for their lengths. Should also be starting to color up.

Thanks Mike. I was above Rebers bridge. That was my second time on the tully. I will give the fall stocked section a try next time out. There is just so much accessible water and so little time to explore it. But I keep going and learning.
