Time Fished: 1045am - 1pm
Weather Conditions: mid 80s and Sunny
Water Conditions: 67 degrees, 333 cfs, slighly off color
Insects: despite the sun there were some Caddis moving up the creek.
I also noticed dead insects in the surface film floating past. It appeared the rising fish were taking these.
We fished at Rebers Bridge. My father started with a dry by the bridge. My son crossed the bridge, went downstream and took a well worn path to the creek and found a nice pod of risers. I crossed the creek below the bridge and worked a wooly bugger downstream to my son. I never had a strike. Along the way I came nose to nose with a blue heron that didn’t want to give up his fishing hole. Eventually he flew but returned before we left.
We caught a couple in the pod of risers but we had to go back and find my father. We decided to got to lunch.
At one point a tuber came floating by and told us a lot more fish were jumping upstream. When we broke for lunch we tried a few roads on either side of the creek to locate the tube and kayak parking lot but we never did find it.
Everyone I saw was fishing dries.
