0830 started at Reebers bridge air temp 49 water 55. Gin clear water 120 cfm flow rate.. Bows were rising to midges but no joy. i switched to Als rats size 20 and caught my first Bow a 15" tully tornado.

After a few moves up stream and many casts i switched to black ants size 20 and caught a nice bow, didn't get to measure him tough i left the net at stream side and my arms arent that long anymore. I had a few hookups but didnt land any more.

By 1100 i draged myself out of the creek to search for a hot coffee and a good cigar.

The Tully is a creek that has educated trout in it, and midge sippers galore. If you never have fished it please do so it's one of SEPAS' better streams.

I fished the Tully this afternoon for about 1 1/2 hours. The stocked fingerling rainbows were working the surface and just under it hard. I fished a dry/dropper with a size 18 Griffiths Gnat up top and a size 20 Zebra Midge on the dropper. Caught 8 bows (all fingerlings) - 4 on the GG and 4 on the Zebra Midge. The only large trout I saw was chasing one of the fingerlings that I had hooked. It was a chilly afternoon on a shaded portion of the stream. The Tully is very low, running about 50 CFS and the water temp was 48 degrees. Saw a number of other fishermen which I expected on the afternoon of Thanksgiving Eve. It will be interesting to watch how the fingerlings develop over winter and into next year. All in all, an enjoyable afternoon of fall flyfishing.
