Fished Monday morning from 8:30-12:30. Air temps were high 50's-low 60's with a cloudy water flow around 275. Day was overcast. Caddis were coming off along with the occasional sulphur and what I thought to be a cranefly type insect. Only saw a few of those, thought I would mention as a sidenote. They were not mosquitos but had that same long leggy look.
Fish were very active taking emerging caddis and dries. I used #16 emergers in emerald and tan and also #18 tan cdc dry fly all on 6X tippet. Emerald emerger was more successful. Landed at least a dozen fish with the largest being a 15" rainbow, my first bow there this year, and also caught a tiger trout, which the guy near me said they stocked up on the Cacoosing for a rodeo. The rest were fiesty browns.
Across the stream from me a heron caught a nice 10-12" brownie that he dropped back into the water when the rock I threw in his direction startled him. It was before I caught anything and I was a bit jealous.
