Fished the statewide reg section located downstream from the DH Area from 2:15-4:45 PM. Never saw another angler the entire time. Water temp 58F. Used pheasant-tail nymph combined w/ tan caddis emerger. Caught three on the PT and six on the emerger. Lost two. All but one trout was a standard size RT; the other was a ST. All stocked this year. Sparse numbers of caddis were in the air as were even lower numbers of sulphurs. Occasional rises.

Stocked ST in the Tully?? About to head there for my pre work 45 minute session.
It’s not unusual for an occasional, and I do mean occasional, trout of a species not prescribed for a particular section to get mixed in with a load. Also, there used to be a fishing derby in the park along the Cacoosing. It could be that ST were stocked there. Finally, it could also be that ST were substituted for either RT or BT if a hatchery was running short of a particular species. The ST that I caught was clearly a stocked fish from this year.
Per a discussion in another current thread, three of the fish I caught were caught upstream from my position and the rest were caught even with my position or somewhat downstream. Did not use an indicator or sighter.

That would be a neat surprise I guess. They still do the rodeo in the park, I fished it a couple times since. They loadedddd that short section of cacoosing with fish. Pulled out a wild brown this morning below 222 on Tully. That’s my fourth or fifth wild in that section.

Yep since December. All just below cacoosing. I had never fished Tully probably before dam removal. Was that stretch much nicer to fish before? I noticed it’s very sandy/gravel and it seems to be working it’s way down.

I have caught stream born brown trout near mouth of plum/rebers bridge as well. They may be coming from both
I can’t speak to how the Tully appears now vs pre-dam removal since I haven’t waded that segment of the Tully from Cacoosing to the Rt 222 bridge since then. As for a few wild browns below Cacoosing and below Plum, that was always the case.
