Work got called due to weather, so I jumped in the truck and left on my usual schedule. The weather was mixed clouds and breezy, and the water was 244 cfs. Started fishing after ten below the mill and the fish were savage for awhile. Hooked and landed three on my first five casts. naturally that didn't last, but as I moved from riffle to riffle, there were plenty of takers. The BH cadds pupa was catching some but the dropper (sulpher nymph on 6x) was brutal. Mostly rainbows in the 12-14''range, but I broke off the largest fish as he dashed for the far shore. On a sad note, I apparently didn't clip my net back on my belt in my hurry to release the last fish of the day, around 3 PM. That was in the run just below the 222 overpass. If anyone finds it, I would gladly exchange some flies that are lethal in the Tully right now. The number of fish in this creek is crazy right now, though I'm sure the spin fishers will remedy that come June 15. Oh, there were tan caddis and midges in the air, but few risers.

Nice. I still love this river. I was there with 2 buddies on Monday from about 9 until 3. It was very hot and along with a nice sunburn, we all managed at least 10 fish, the majority of which came on the surface. As usual, Caddis were the diet but I did see some big sulphurs as well, albeit sparse. My best fish broke off 6x and took my bug. He had to be a 20 + Inch brown close to the bank. He was coming full out of the water trying to shake the bug after he broke off. I felt bad but from the looks of him, he'll be ok. The best fish brought to hand was a 15 or 16 inch Bow also on dry.

There were literally so many risers that I may have covered 20 yards of water the entire time I was there. Fished in the Waterworks only.
