Fished the tully with ian_brown today. We started at 5:30 or so, but I'm not too sure on that one. Flows looked wonderful; best I've seen in a while. Fish were on caddis but the going was "highly technical" for one reason or another. Fish were rising everywhere but were skittish as hell. Caught a few on cdc caddis, black ants, and EHC. Stayed til almost 10 and caught one after dark... Ian caught a bat then too, hah.

Had to drop the tippet down to 7x for this one... sheesh. Adults or fingerlings aside, today seemed like the tully that I cut my teeth on a few years ago: difficult, frustrating, and rewarding.

same deal for me on sunday until the sun went down.....

Tight lines,

either of you hit the tricos in the AM yet? I probably will this weekend I will post a report

I fished it sat morning from 5:15 - 9:45 and the trico hatch was practically non existent. Strange to say the least. a decent hatch of blue quills started coming off about 8am but the fish never touch those. I was at the palisades btw and I saw 3 other anglers besides my buddy who was with me.
