Fished with my brother from about 1:30 pm until 6:00pm. We fished above and below the PPL bridge. Thunderstorms chased us off. Took the water temp at around 3 or so and it was 65 degrees. I can't imagine the temp in a month or so. There were a few caddis (very few) dropping eggs. We did manage to take 4 stocked brooks and I caught a really nice fallfish (best fight of the day).
We were amazed to only find one other person on the stream the 2nd saturday of trout season. Back 15 or 20 years ago that stream would have been packed all through the evening.
We spent the morning investigating some wild trout waters, but they were mostly on posted land, found one with some possibilities, but very small. The fun is in the hunt. All in all a great day, the weather held out longer than we expected.
