Tionesta Flow Questions

I am going to attempt to swing some flies on the Tionesta this weekend, but that all depends on what mother nature does in the next few days. I see she is coming down nicely from the recent rains.

So, I am a nerd lol a weather nerd of sorts. I enjoy the journey and adventure of fly fishing.

Ever since I learned that my GG Grandad uses to use a two-handed rod before he joined the Marines in 1918 as a young man. I have used a switch rod or a full Spey for most of my fly fishing.

Where I am going with all of this is the flows for the Tionesta. I enjoy swinging flies and covering miles of water in an outing. I am also an avid hiker and so this all works better for me.

Does anyone here have a preferred flow they enjoy swinging flies on the Tionesta? I am new to this area of PA having spent time exploring Venango, Tioga, Potter, and Lycoming Counties in your beautiful state.

The USGS monitoring location I am using is in Lynch, Pennsylvania.

Just came back from tionesta I like the higher waters. Sounds like you have a big rod and up there if you’re fishing some the creeks up there it will be hard as some are not very big creeks. A lot of trees and bushes to dodge. The river is high with a nice flow. Tionesta creek is flooded and Nebraska bridge is under water. Higher up triple 6 can be good.

Yes I know I will be limited in the waters I can fish. It's all part of the love that is fly fishing.
