Sunny day with temps climbing to the 80s followed by afternoon clouds. I fished at Mayburg from 415pm to 530pm. Water temp was 60 degrees and it appeared to be a little off color. The flow was a little milder than usual. I saw 1 large mayfly and a few caddis.'
Tionesta is a difficult stream to nymph fish on the bottom since it is so wide and it is not really possible to work a very specific location. I like to swing flies but tonight the fish just weren’t moving in the water column to feed. I had 2 nice strikes but didn’t land a fish.
