I think that’s just a dropper loop.

A blood knot would have the lines entering the middle gap in opposite directions I believe. If he cut the overhand knot at the end and then reversed the pink strand to run through the hole/ gap in the opposite direction of the green strand. Then it would be a blood knot. I think ..

Well it's a blood knot with both tags running out of the same side.... which is what a dropper loop achieves.

I tie a lot of dropper loops for drop shot rigs but I don't know that this method is better than just tying a blood knot in the conventional method. I guess I have enough practice so as to not really think about an easier or quicker way. It does seem to use up more material though. In comparison I can complete a conventional blood knot with only 1/2" tags relatively easily. That's not often a big deal but is helpful sometimes.

I use this knot all the time. It is not a true blood knot but I don't think it is any less effective. It can be done with very minimal waste.

That’s how I tie my blood knots. Don’t really matter to me if it’s a blood knot or not or a dropper loop since it works, seems just as strong and is far easier and faster to tie.

When I was young and could see, I tied blood knots. See no reason to tie anything more than a surgeons knot these days.

I use that as well if I'm attaching a bare piece of tippet.

This knot is useful if there are already flies on the tippet or you want to tie while the tippet is still on the spool.

I'm in the "not a blood knot" camp...

That being said, I'll stick with my tried and true method for true blood knots for a lot of reasons including speed and the ability to have as little as 1/4" of waste if needed.

I always wondered why every video never used Tippett material. I use a Dennison blood knot tool. I carry this in my vest.

I prefer blood knot's but I think I'd just use an alternative if I needed to do all that to tie one.

Got to walmart or similar source of low priced sporting goods. Buy a spool of the cheapest 4lb test they have. Tie at least 5 blood knots every day for 2 weeks. You will no longer have problems tying blood knots.
