well i never liked this stream very much, mainly because i donot like real big water and ......i have yet to land a trout on this very picky stream. it was a semi- warm day and the flows seemed fairly cold. we arrived first at about 8:00 in the palacades. nothing was biting and it was a shame. i never fished that area of tully b4 and the water was very nice. i really like riffles :-D since we couldnt move a fish and only saw one trout .....we started to leave. it was about 8:45 and the tricos were just starting to come off. We drove down to paper mill hole and had it to ourselves. trout just above paper mill were rising to tricos. i had many strikes on a yellow rubber legged stimulator but just couldnt get them to hook. my buddy fished paper mill hole and cuaght about 7 trout right at the confluence with little cacoosing(i think it is). i went to the riffle just below paper mill hole and landed a very nice old brown on the yellow rubber legged stimulator. i Had a chat with a fellow flyfisherman who also agreed with me that the tricos and caddis just werent taking off like the should be. i think it was because of the heavy rains the night b4. They didnt last long bout it was a very hard rain. We then fished from paper mill down to the concrete underpass. we missed several fish and my buddy managed one nice bow. SO my curse on the tully is over......i might have missed 7 or so trout but i landed a nice one on top :-D IT made MY day! :-D
