Hit the Run for about an hour late yesterday afternoon while I was in Boiling Springs. Water temp was 56 and clear (typical); no insects or surface activity; a couple other anglers but light pressure (by the Run standards, where angling pressure is often intense).

I started out with terrestrials on top and fish were interested, however, surface hits were very tentative and hard to hook-up. It has been my experience that fish in the Breeches special reg sections, and the Run in particular, can get very hook shy by summer - they simply get fished so hard that hooking them on top can become very difficult. This phenomenon was definitely noticeable last night. When I dropped down to a Zebra Midge fished low and slow, the hook-ups improved and I brought several nice sized stocked rainbows to hand rather quickly.

The Run is holding fish very well this year.
