I had a couple hours to fish today, and knowing that most streams would be pretty high after all the rain the past couple days, I decided to try tea creek since it's so small. The water was very high for tea creek, and was off color, but I was still able to wade pretty much everywhere.
I mostly fished nymphs - a green weenie with a pheasant tail dropper. Managed only a single trout - a small brown that took the pheasant tail. I also tried a black wooly bugger, but didn't have any luck.
At one point I hooked a piece of wood debris on the bottom of the stream, and brought it in. I took a look at it, and it was completely covered in mayfly nymphs! Absolutely crawling with them. Most were around a size 14 or 16, with some that were significantly smaller. That definitely confirmed my tendency to rely on a size 14 pheasant tail on this stream.
Around 3 o'clock I started to see an occasional light colored mayfly coming off. I didn't manage to catch any, but I'm guessing they were sulphurs? Maybe if I had been able to stick around into the evening I'd have seen a few more come off. Didn't see any rising fish during the time I was there.
