where the bologna comes from.
hit my favorite little honey hole this morning.
this section of the creek is just loaded with bass, everything from yoy to some serious submarines. even has a few large mouth in it.
typical bronze back from the area.

Very nice. The upper half of that watershed is as healthy as I've ever seen it.

Thanks, I live in Palmyra and have yet to find the better spots on the Swattie. Sounds like I need to do some exploring more upstream. Brain, I'm curious about the fly in that smallie's mouth. It looks almost wormlike, but I'm assuming it's actually some kind of streamer. Would you be willing to share the design and materials?

no doubt indeed.
for every bass hooked, they have several others with it trying to get what the hooked fish has. i was caughting 4-7"ers like candy, each round the hooked fish had no less then half a dozen other bass with it.
the pictured smb had a monster with it....i was trying to let it throw the hook in hopes of having a go with his much larger friend.

the fly is what's left of a clouser pattern deep minnow...olive top, purple bottom red flash in the middle. these were the last two of the morning.....by that time there was not much deer hair left on the hook.

this is the clouser from these pix.
about 3.5"s long.

Cool fly. Thanks! I wonder if craft fur would last a bit longer? And if it would be as effective?

Were you wading or in a water craft? I've fished that creek and it seems you need some form of boat. Wading is only good in some areas

wading. there are fish everywhere in the creek.
i have a canoe, but have not had it this year yet.
might get it out yet though, a few of us from the shop are planning a "company" fishing trip on the creek.

I have a hard time finding them. Seems fish are always in the water that you cant wade. There is alot of flat skinny water with no structure.
