Susquehanna River, York Co. 11/25/16

Fished the Susky today with my Dad from about 1130-130. The fishing was slow but somewhat consistent. In 2+ hours we had 6 fish- 5 bass to 16 inches and a 19.5in. walleye. Water was low, clear and completely calm. You could see to the bottom clearly in about 4 feet of water. Most of the fish we caught were in water too deep to see bottom. All of the fish were on clousers in black or purple fished low and slow.

Well done. Nice to see a big walleye.

The river has been low and stable for months with little change other than dropping water temps. I wonder what effect, if any, these conditions may have on late autumn/early winter fishing. Usually there are yo-yo water levels this time of year. This year, the annual movement to deeper, slower water may have changed. Yesterday was overcast and calm. Good info on the clear water and getting fish in deeper areas.

There are large numbers of bass 12 inches long and longer as well as large numbers 15 inches long and longer in the unimpounded portion of the York Co stretch and they have been there for the past 2-3 seasons, including the present one.
