Susquehanna River, Perry/Dauphin Counties, 8/7/15

Dave,

I know the YOY numbers are lower according to PFBC surveys but personal experience shows different. Last year was much lower catch numbers and almost all fish were 14"+. This year, big numbers and piles of tiny fish 3"-8". A good number in the 11"-14" range. The 17"-20" fish we were catching regularly last season are less evident this year. Maybe they'll surface closer to fall. We have managed 1-2 fish per trip that would measure 19".

Agree that the fish look clean, healthy and don't have the discoloration / sores of the past couple of seasons. what's really stood out to me is the amount of 1-2 yr old fish. Very promising for sure.

I still owe you that promised float trip. Let's do it before the leaves clog things up. I know NickR will be in.

6 of us went out weds night downstream of the 81 bridge. I was the only one throwing flies. The Senko chuckers made fun of me but I was the first on the board. All did well catching smb of various ages. Very encouraging.
