Took the time to check out bigger river and see what was happening. Fished very well compared to how it was earlier in July. Ended up with 22 with lots of different age sizes. My buddy had 18. Would have had great end but his troller died. Fish were rising everywhere. What a great sight. Baby bass on an intermediate was the ticket. White shenks tied bassified was getting its whacks as well. Many more big fish were caught compared to this time in previous last 15 years.

I've been it on the river several times this year in different locations. Seems like it is hit or miss. One day you hardly see or catch anything, the next time out you might catch a bunch.
The last time out I hooked a big catfish and that was all. The time before that we hooked into dozens of small largemouths and redeyes.
Nice to hear you got into some (smallies ?), I think the conditions above Harrisburg are much greater than down river.

With the population down they still seem to be in the good areas north of Harrisburg. Although when the water temps were up and they should have been eating everyday they were incredibly lethargic. I was on it every day till I switched to the Juniata for a while. The one saving grace on the Susquehanna was if you found a hatch in the evening they were on it. They love the slate drakes. The tanic stain on the east side of the river always makes the east side challenging.
